The Hillside SPARKS students would like to thank Arby’s of Clare for inviting them to paint their windows for the holiday. The students had a great time and did an amazing job!

From all of us at the Hillside SPARKS program we hope you have a safe and happy holiday!
This month the Hillside SPARKS students got to go on a Virtual Field Trip to NASA where they learned about life in space. With the help of the Clare Gladwin RESD and REMC we were able to bring a NASA employee to us through the power of technology. Students were able to ask questions and learn interesting facts about what happens when you go up to the International Space Station.
We also enjoyed a trip to The Fruitful Orchard in Gladwin this month. Students were treated to a hayride through the orchard where they got to get off and pick an apple of their own. The SPARKS students also got to see where and how the apples are washed, sorted and turned into apple cider. However, the highlight of the trip was the fresh donuts and cider they got to enjoy before heading home.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Lights On After School a great success! We had approximately 150 students and parents in attendance and enjoyed food from Little Caesars and Chartwells along with presentations from the Red Cross, MSU Extension, the Harrison Fire Department, School Leason Officer Nick Oster and the school nurse Joy Robinson.
